Showcase / A blog that lays itself out
Live Tool - Blog (free)Write the post. The blog does the rest.
ACME's workshop blog is one of two blogs on this site. Four demo posts, two categories and a handful of tags - and everything around them, from the listing to the feed, came from the Blog Tool. The other blog is our own Domma Blog; Blog Pro runs both.
Open the blog and poke at it.
Four ways to list
Cards, List, Magazine and Compact, top right of the listing. The site owner picks the default; visitors can switch.
Search and filter
Type in the search box, pick a category chip, or right-click a post to filter on its category or tag.
A post page
Photo, reading time, a contents list for longer posts and related posts at the end - all from the post layout.
Category pages
Every category and tag has its own page and address, ready for your menu.
An RSS feed
Readers subscribe in their feed reader; the sitemap lists every post for search engines.
Writers and editors
Writers draft; only people allowed to publish can publish or schedule. Comments can be switched on, with moderation.
Switch it on. Write. Publish.
Turn on the Blog Tool and a Blog section appears in the admin. Write a post in Markdown with a featured photo, file it under a category, add tags, and publish now or schedule it for later.
The look comes from blocks you can edit in the admin: six post layouts (classic, feature, minimal, sidebar, split, essay) and the listing styles above. This demo moved the blog to /demo/blog in the settings - no restart needed.
- Drafts, publishing and scheduling, with a permission for each
- Categories, tags and author pages
- Optional comments with moderation and a sidebar badge for new ones
- An RSS feed and sitemap entries
- SEO title and description per post
- Sample posts to see it working on day one
Blog Pro, when one is not enough.
This site runs two blogs on Blog Pro: the Domma Blog at /blog and ACME's demo at /demo/blog, each with its own address, look and settings. Blog Pro also adds dozens of layouts, self-hosted fonts, page transitions, author pages and privacy-first videos, galleries and maps. If the licence ever lapses, the free Blog takes over again with every post intact.
